A downloadable game for Windows

In the secluded ghats of India, a secret think tank races against time to develop a Quantum bomb tester. The world is on edge as rumors circulate about a Quantum bomb with unprecedented sensitivity – any attempt at detection could trigger an explosion. The scientists devise a tester, it detects the bomb without detecting the bomb. In other words, it is a quantum circuit that predicts whether there is a bomb present or not. But its quantum nature introduces uncertainty, leading to occasional false positives and failures.

As the lead scientist, you're tasked with a critical mission. A 7x7 minefield hides 9 Quantum bombs, and you have three lives. The quantum bomb tester, while ingenious, is imperfect. It can mislead or fail outright. Clues from spies hint at bomb counts in each column, aiding your decisions.

Armed with the quantum bomb tester, your goal is to navigate this minefield. Every move is crucial, and the fate of many hangs in the balance. May your quantum calculations guide you safely through this perilous journey, Quantum Scientist.

Rules of the Game:

  1. Objective: Clear the 7x7 minefield containing 9 bombs using the Quantum bomb tester.
  2. Tester: If the tester predicts a bomb is present, it turns the selected tile blue and otherwise green. Moreover, it's accuracy increases with increase in the number of cycles of the tester. In the game, the number of cycles of the tester is equal to the number of tiles selected.
  3. Tester Limitations: The Quantum bomb tester is not perfect. It has prominent bit-flip noise. Thus, it may give false positives or fail completely due to this noise in the circuit.
  4. Tester Usage Limitation: Due to the high cost of running the circuit, you cannot use the tester on consecutive turns. For similar reason you may select only up to 5 tiles.
  5. Lives: You have 3 lives before the game ends.
  6. Actions:
    1. Select Tiles: On each turn, you can select up to 5 tiles.
    2. Use Tester (p): After selecting tiles, you can use the tester on each of them.
    3. Clear Field (c): If you're unsure or want to play it safe, you can clear the selected tiles without using the tester.
    4. Flag Mines (f): If you are certain a tile contains a bomb, you can flag it.
  7. Clues: At the end of each column, you can see the number of bombs in that column.
  8. Tile History: Right-click on any tile to view its history. This can help eliminate false positives and verify results.

Some suggested strategies to keep in mind:

  1. Collect Clues: Pay close attention to the number of bombs in each column. This information is crucial for making informed decisions.
  2. Risk Management: Given the limitations of the tester, be strategic in your selections. Consider using the tester on tiles with fewer neighbours initially.
  3. Flagging Mines: If you are confident that a tile contains a bomb based on previous results or clues, flag it to avoid accidental selections.
  4. Tile History: Regularly check the history of tiles to track results and identify patterns that can help in making better decisions.
  5. Life Conservation: Use your lives wisely. If the tester is giving consistent results, take advantage of it. If there's uncertainty, consider clearing the field without using the tester.
  6. Adapt and Learn: Adapt your strategy based on the outcomes. If a particular area consistently gives false positives, adjust your approach.

Are you ready?

All the best!
